REVIEW ON DAY 1 OF 100th SYDNEY TEST

ANOTHER FLOP SONG SUNG BY THE INDIAN BATTERS

Historical 100th test at Sydney between Australia and India started on tuesday. Dhoni won the toss and decided to have bat first on fine conditions to bat. Both teams were unchanged from their last test. Indian top order expected to enjoy the batting conditions. But at the third ball of the day Gambhir got out to Pattinson's shaping away good length ball caught by Clarke at first slip.

Dravid came out to the crease, he was looked unsettled at the middle. He was just hung in their for thirty  deliveries and got out to Siddle by looking to flick the ball to leg side. Few deliveries later Sehwag went to pavilion by nipping one full length ball to Haddin of  Pattinson's bowling.

SCG's big fish Laxman came to bat but he lasted for eight balls and gave away his wicket to Pattinson. With wickets are trembling at on end Sachin looked promising at other with his classic batting touch. India were 72/4 at lunch. Kohli made 23 before Siddle getting him out with a beautiful little bouncy out swinger.

Sachin was striking at his best and Dhoni was looked in a defensive mood. Sachin went to drive a full pitched delivery from Pattinson but that ball got inside edge of his bat and went on to disturb the stumps. India were 124/6 at that time.

Ashwin and Dhoni put on a fifty run partnership but soon after that Ashwin got out by a leading edge. Zaheer gave his wicket at very next ball to Hilfenhaus off a short ball. Ishant also got out in the same fashion as Zaheer to Hilfenhaus's short ball. Meanwhile Dhoni scored his maiden fifty at Australian soil.
When Indian score was 191 Yadav got out to Siddle which was his 100th wicket in tests. Dhoni was not out at 57*.

Australians came to bat in the 3rd session, Zaheer gave India a break through at first over by getting out of dangerous Warner for 8 caught by Sachin after it was bounced from Laxman's Hands. Again Zaheer took Marsh's wicket in next ball for a golden duck. Zak missed his  Hat trick chance.

After few deliveries Zaheer struck, he made Cowan to walk back to pavilion by  a leg before wicket.
Clarke and Ponting made unbeaten 79 run partnership which rescued Australia from 37/3.At stumps Australia were 116/3 trailing India by 75 runs.

As overcast conditions are expected tomorrow it will help Indians to get some quick wickets. Indians must keep on putting pressure on Aussies by bowling tight full length  and not giving easy runs. For Australia, they must keep on batting for the whole day if they get about 250 runs of lead they can look for an Innings victory.
